Atatürk's Culinary Heritage

Atatürk Cuisine Week, Decision No. 40, the 2024 and 2025 commemorative editions, and the source-critical research on which they rest.

Institutional frameworkAtatürk Cuisine Week is an institutional observance established and maintained by the World Turkish Cuisine Academy and the Turkish Cuisine Movement under Decision No. 40 of 16 May 2024.
Distinct from Turkish Cuisine WeekAtatürk Cuisine Week is a distinct WTCA/TMDH institutional observance, separate in origin, programme and documentary record from other initiatives using the name Turkish Cuisine Week.

Decision No. 40 and what it records

The week rests on a single dated institutional decision: Decision No. 40, File 0001, 16 May 2024, adopted unanimously by the World Turkish Cuisine Academy and the Turkish Cuisine Movement.

The decision text records only the adoption and the announcement of 19–25 May as Atatürk Cuisine Week within the institutional framework of TMDH and WTCA. It does not contain a detailed seven-day programme. Any thematic day-by-day framework published later is a separate institutional implementation proposal and is not part of the decision.

The decision records the institutional adoption of the observance within WTCA/TMDH and defines the basis of the Academy’s own published record.

The project site

The week has its own bilingual project site, which brings together the decisions, the menus, the source types, the corrections and the limitations of the work.
