The principles, evidence standards and provenance practices that support the Academy’s institutional and published record.
Institutional identity
World Turkish Cuisine Academy (WTCA) is an independent academy devoted to the research, documentation, publication, preservation and interpretation of Turkish culinary heritage. Its institutional work encompasses research, documentation, terminology, archival practice, cultural heritage initiatives and the maintenance of a reviewable scholarly record.
Naming
The current primary name of the institution is World Turkish Cuisine Academy in English and Dünya Türk Mutfağı Akademisi in Turkish; the abbreviation is WTCA. The historical variants World Turkish Cuisine and Chefs Academy, World Turkish Cuisine & Chefs Academy and Dünya Türk Mutfağı ve Şefleri Akademisi are retained only in the emblem, in dated historical documents, in direct quotation, in source citations and as alternate names in structured data. The canonical spelling of personal names is Tolgahan Gülyiyen and Zeki Gülyiyen; ASCII forms appear only in technical file names or in original historical sources. The primary public role is Founding President. Chancellor is retained in WTCA's institutional record as a historical honorary title. The Academy and the Turkish Cuisine Movement are separate institutions, are referenced accurately, and their identities are not merged.
Evidence and appraisal
Primary sources are preferred where accessible. When a primary source has not been examined directly, the intermediary published source and the resulting limit of verification are disclosed. Appraisals of the work of others are published as reasoned scholarly assessments, with their evidentiary grounds and source basis identified. Corrections are recorded with their date.
Educational and public activities
The Academy’s current programme is centered on research, documentation and publication. Earlier workshop materials are preserved as part of the institutional web record. Future educational and public activities, where developed, will be described according to their scope, format, instructors, assessment method where applicable, and institutional framework.
Honorary distinctions
WTCA confers cultural honorary distinctions in recognition of service to Turkish culinary heritage and to the Academy’s institutional mission.
Rights and provenance
WTCA maintains a rights-and-provenance review process and records the available source, credit, rightsholder and usage basis for published assets. Missing or disputed information remains subject to human review. Attribution is not the same as permission, and this process is not a copyright clearance. Intellectual property
Copyright and related rights in original WTCA text, design and institutional materials belong to their respective rightsholders as applicable. Third-party photographs, documents, logos, quotations and publications remain the property of their respective owners and are used subject to the applicable permission, licence, public-domain status or quotation rules. Nothing on this site transfers third-party rights to WTCA. Use, reproduction, distribution or modification of protected material without the permission of its rightsholder may constitute infringement. Quotation for scholarly purposes with full attribution is welcomed.
Accessibility and privacy
The site is designed to support keyboard and screen-reader access and targets WCAG 2.2 AA. File-side and automated checks have been performed; testing with real assistive technologies remains pending. It sets no first-party analytics, no advertising tracker and no first-party tracking cookie, uses no contact form and accepts no form submission. Typefaces are requested from Google Fonts, which is a network connection to a third party; no other third-party resource is loaded. English and Turkish have separate addresses.
